James Reynolds is a 'plein air' landscape oil painter, focused in Cape Cod and Vermont. He imparts an impressionistic approach using a limitted palette and aggressive brush work. Reynolds studied art at University of Massachusetts, and directly with New England painters Mark Boedges, Stapleton Kearns, Jerry Weiss and Jonathan McPhillips. He is a member of Oil Painters of America (OPA), Cape Cod Art Association and the Plymouth Guild (Plymouth Center for the Arts). Reynolds work is collected throughout the region, and has appeared in The Boston Globe, Associated Press, New England Cable News (NECN), Provincetown Banner and The Cape Codder.
